Upgrading to Japan Airlines Biz Class Seat

This might be too long for AMA, but here goes: My family of 3 is going to Japan next year; I got two biz class seats and one Prem Economy via British Airways Avios for Japan Airlines. I would like to upgrade the Prem Economy seat. Having just joined Points Talk Premium and listened to Jess talk about how she scored business class seats on AA, I've been running test searches at the "right" time. Need your expert opinion on my best path forward -- should I: 1. upgrade with cash at the airport 2. keep looking on British airways closer to departure date and if there are seats, cancel my original flight and try to book the biz seat with more points (but avios doesn't transfer immediately so this is problematic!) 3. cancel my original flight (making sure to do it more than 24 hours in advance) and book via AA if biz seat becomes available 4. something else??? #1 seems like the easiest... but wanted y'alls expert opinion. Thanks for considering my question -- loving my subscription and listening to you ladies all the time is a joy!

Travel insurance

Hi! I plan to book a VRBO for Hawaii. I'm debating between separate travel insurance or relying on my CSR. VRBO insurance is $300. Allianz is slightly higher than VRBO. I only need coverage for the home rental bc I paid the taxes on my flight through my Aspire card. Will Chase cover the VRBO in the event of illness? Thank you!

Paying for a Disney Cruise with gift cards = 5x Points

Hello! I'm getting ready to pay for a $14k disney cruise for our family next year all in gift cards i'll get from Office Depot using my Ink Cash card and getting 5X back on points. I'll earn about 70k chase points from it. My husband and I have pretty much gotten all other cards available and there weren't any minimum spends I'm working on anyway. Just wondering if you would recommended a better way to earn points on this large purchase or if there is something else I'm missing to maximize this disney expense. Thanks!
